The GetLayer method returns an interface to the IFeatureLayer66 object based on the specified ID. To determine whether GroupID is the ID of a feature layer, use IProjectTree66.GetObject to return an interface to the Project Tree element and then ITerraExplorerObject66. ObjectType to get the element type.

GroupID
The ID of the layer item requested.
Return Value
pILayer
An IFeatureLayer66 representing the layer object.
Exceptions
HRESULT can return any of the values listed in the HRESULT Return Values list, as well as the following values:

The item entered is not a group and therefore cannot be used as a group. |
